Israel’s Arrogance And Aggression Towards Palestine Must Halt

The people of Gaza are going from having no electricity, no medical treatment, and no food to just giving blood. The United Nations, standing aloof as a helpless referee, is only blowing the whistle on human rights violations. America, England, and the European Union are next to Israel. Shortages of water, food and fuel affected all aspects of daily life. Oxfam has warned that “starvation is being used as a weapon of war against the civilian population of Gaza” as Israel blocks aid and maintains a total siege on the Strip. The entire healthcare system collapsed. Israelis were at the forefront of education, awareness, welfare, and science and became stronger militarily. They wanted the further expansion of their independent state. The Palestinian Muslims wanted an independent state. As a result, conflict became inevitable at some point. But Israel is adamant. They want what they want, absolutely. They want Gaza; they want the West. Despite the fact that 120 nations voted in favor of a UN resolution supported by Russia and China, 18 Democratic members of the US Congress submitted a resolution calling for an end to the conflict. Palestinians will continue to be killed. The US administration’s blind support for Israel. The Western world, including the United States, wants to see Hamas as a terrorist organization, which means that Israel has the right to defend its security. They simply do not see, and they do not want to understand, the value of Palestinian lives, the right to live, and the right to form an independent state.

Even before the October 7 Palestinian attack on Israel and the Israeli army’s response, the 2.3 million inhabitants of the Gaza Strip had long suffered from the oppressive measures imposed by Israel and supported by the international community. For 16 years, Palestinians in Gaza have lived under a brutal Israeli blockade, cut off from the rest of Palestine and the world. More than 50% of Palestinians were unemployed, and more than 80% depended on humanitarian aid to survive. They have limited access to clean water, electricity and health care. Previous Israeli military attacks on Gaza, including deadly attacks in May 2021, August 2022 and May 2023, have killed hundreds of people and destroyed key infrastructure. Even before the current conflict, the mental health of children, young people and their caregivers had dropped to alarming levels, according to Save the Children.

Peace is elusive in Palestine due to unrestrained genocide. The war between Hamas and Israel in West Asia has never been as brutal and bloody as the one in the region. Thousands of people are dying every day. And most of the dead and wounded are ordinary citizens of Palestine. In 1993, a great opportunity for lasting peace in Palestine opened up with the benevolence of Israeli Prime Minister Isaac Rabin and PLO leader Yasser Arafat. The Oslo Accords were signed. Yasser Arafat and Isaac Rabin were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for establishing this peace. It is a tragic irony of fate that Israel’s then-Prime Minister, Isaac Rabin, was assassinated by anti-peace extremist Jews for promoting peace in Palestine, while Yasser Arafat was framed by extreme Palestinians for his attempts to make peace. Neither of them could fully implement the Oslo Accords. In such an environment, the armed organization Hamas became strong by using it as a tool in Palestine. In 2007, they came to power in Gaza. But the Jewish state of Israel not only survived but became the next powerful state and shook the world, but the dream of the Palestinians to form an independent state remained elusive. In 1917, Great Britain supported the doctrine of establishing its own state in Palestine as a Jewish homeland. When large numbers of Jewish refugees from around the world arrived in Palestine, the original inhabitants were pushed aside. In 1947, the United Nations passed a resolution dividing Palestine into two states. In 1948, when the Jews were given their own state, the Palestinian dream of an independent state remained elusive.

Israeli brutality against the Palestinians is unbearable. Palestinian lives were bombed in the name of teaching Hamas. Why did water, electricity and communication go out in Gaza? Why are thousands of children and young people injured in hospitals? The whole world today is blinded by this war. Everyone is talking about terrorism. Someone says that if Hamas attacks, Israel has no right to defend itself. Some say this crisis is religious. Must be with Hamas for trust. Palestinians are dying because of the tension between these two sides. Support for the Palestinians and the legitimate claim to an independent state disappear, as does the country of the French, in the same sense that Palestine should be the country of the Arabs, as Mahatma Gandhi said in 1938. According to history, since 720 BC, the Jews have wanted to establish their home in Jerusalem. But after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire in the First World War, Palestine was abandoned as an international territory, an important place for Christianity, Islam and Judaism.

There are currently no hospital beds available in Gaza. Children die, women die, and helpless, innocent people die. Terrifyingly, it seems that the very trait that allows people to call themselves human is under threat today. For the past 75 years, Palestinians have been victims of hatred and violence.
