How to Enrol for an Aadhaar Card?

The application process for an Aadhaar card is carried out by the officials which are available at Aadhaar enrollment centres all over the country. An individual can find an updated list of all of the enrollment centres for Aadhaar card online on the website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). It must be noted that in order to make Aadhaar cards available to all Indian residents as quickly as possible, UIDAI has additionally authorised over 10,000 post offices and bank branches to operate as Permanent Enrollment centres.

To enrol for their Aadhaar card online, all one will have to do is follow the 3 simple steps mentioned below.

  • Step 1: Firstly, one must locate the nearest Aadhaar enrollment centre or a permanent enrollment centre. As mentioned above, the applicant can find the list of all of the centres for Aadhaar card online on UIDAI’s website. 
  • Step 2: Secondly, fill in the application form. The applicant will need to submit the same at the Aadhaar enrollment centre along with the list of required documents. The list of the documents which will be needed can be found on the UIDAI website.
  • Step 3: Post the submission of the documents, the applicant will need to undergo the biometric registration process. Finally, the due diligence will be carried out by the relevant officials, post which, an acknowledgement letter will be issued in the name of the applicant.

How to Apply for an Aadhaar Card Without any Documents?

As per the Aadhaar enrollment form, there are two ways in which an individual can apply for the Aadhaar card if they want to do so without having to submit the supporting documents. Those two methods are:

Head of Family (HoF)-based application:

As per this particular enrollment process, the Head of Family can submit documents through which they will need to prove his or her relationship with the applicant. The enrollment of the applicant in question will then be processed further after successful verification of these details.

Introducer-based application:

In the event where the applicant does not have a single valid proof of identity or documents pertaining to one’s identity, an introducer which has then been appointed by the registrar can assist in the enrollment process.
