We live in a world that is developing and growing at an unprecedented pace. Everything we used or did in a certain way only a few years earlier has evolved and changed. Be it the use of computers, artificial intelligence, energy, transportation, and many more. All of these have undergone a lot of advancement. The avenue of employee learning and training is no different. Traditional learning is being replaced by e-learning and many people have a dilemma now as to whether it is effective for its use or not.

Let us for a moment assume that e-learning is not a necessity but an option these days and decide if we and why we can consider it. For example, an e-learning platform like Latitude Learning features a variety of things to be used and meant for learning.

Different e-learning platforms offer unique tools, expertise, and course content that is not accessible with traditional training methods. Specially abled people or students with learning disabilities can take the help of e-learning to curate a suitable learning environment for them as well.

The pandemic presented before us an unprecedented circumstance, in which a student can not be physically able to attend the classes for such a long time. E-learning was the solution for that too.

So, if it has so many advantages, does it mean that it is necessary for every organization that wants to train people. In this article, we will try to figure out whether e-learning is effective in real -life or if it offers only hypothetical solutions and benefits.

E-learning is cheaper for all

Be it an organization that wants to train its employees, clients, or partners, or be it the learners themselves. E-learning is proven to be cost-effective for all. What is the point of paying so much to opt for traditional learning methods if it is available online? E-learning platforms enable you to save a lot of time and money both for yourself and for the learners as well.

E-learning offers more flexibility

E-learning platforms offer more flexibility, both for the instructors and learners. Virtual learning opens a lot of new opportunities which are not available with traditional methods. For example, e-learning software is more equipped to provide a Virtual Reality experience to the audience than a traditional classroom. It also offers flexibility in terms of timings.

E-learning is more accessible

People with physical or mental disabilities, who have to be offered unique and more focused training regimes can take the help of e-learning. Someone who is blind may find it difficult to go physically to the classroom daily, but he can regularly take online classes without any difficulty. So e-learning makes training more accessible.

E-learning is time-efficient

Most E-learning platforms offer a personalized experience to their audience and hence are more likely to be engaging and being accepted by the users. E-learning saves a lot of time for the instructors and people who use it for learning. There is no need to travel or move to a physical place and waste time on many other things associated with traditional learning. So e-learning has an edge here too.

The bottom line

Although e-learning offers uncountable advantages for all, it has some disadvantages like

  • less collaboration among the instructors and students
  • More procrastination
  • And less interaction among them.

However still considering all the factors, we must appreciate the benefits e-learning offers to everyone. So all in all we can conclude that e-learning is an effective way of learning and training people from different backgrounds and abilities.
